After a reboot neither the BIOS nor the Maxtor Powermax tool find any harddisk so it died more or less exactly three years after it has been used for the first time. Fortunately the Maxtor website explains that it is still inside the warrenty, RMA number is already here we will see what happens.

And is surprisingly 50% larger than the broken one!
